CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OBJECTIVES

Le Groupe Lyceum/The Lyceum Group (LGL) functions on the premise of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for all of its activities in West Africa. It has invested eight years to develop sustainable corporate and social programs.
These programs are now available to companies and agencies with on-going business development programs in West Africa on a contract and partner basis.
These programs include wellness and health care, education, social impact analysis, rural business development and micro finance. The years invested to hone these programs and skills have resulted in a highly acclaimed development center located in the village of Dominghia in the Boffa District of Guinea.
These successful programs serve as a valuable pilot model, and can be replicated in other rural locations in Guinea and Africa.

Layered with the implementation of CSR programs is LGL's ability to promote adherence and services and provide compliance to "The Equator Principles". www.equator-principles.com  These are defined as a financial industry benchmark for determining, assessing and managing social and environment risk in project management and project financing. "The Equator Principles Financial Institutions (EPFIs) have consequently adopted these Principles in order to ensure that the projects we finance are developed in a manner that is socially responsible and reflect sound environmental management practises. By doing so, negative impacts on project-affected ecosystems and communities should be avoided where possible, and if these impacts are unavoidable, they should be reduced, mitigated and/or compensated for appropriately".

Examples of industry and local programs that can benefit from compliance to CSR and the Equator Principles are power plants, chemical processing plants, mining initiatives (extractive industry), transportation infrastructure, environment, and telecommunications. Paramount to the embedded objectives of TLG/LGL, is to ensure that its operating platform focuses on compliance to good governance, transparency, and good operating practises. With some years of experience working in the rural district of Boffa with a catchment of 15,000 inhabitants, Le Groupe Lyceum/The Lyceum Group is ideally positioned to assess, design, and implement programs with sensitivity to all stakeholders with well-trained and experienced on-the-ground staff and consultants.
