For over seven years Rotary Clubs have played a key role in the work of Le Groupe Lyceum in Guinea. The vital and close relationship started with support from the Rotary Club of Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick. On June 26, 2003 the Grand Manan Island Club published in a letter “We wish to commend Ken Keirstead for his imaginative and bold efforts, directly and through his company, in bringing our attention and the attention of corporate leaders to the (opportunity with) this area of Africa. With his leadership we feel positive results will certainly be achieved”. Over the last seven years, the Rotary Club of Grand Manan Island has donated funds, sponsored rural poor children to attend school, donated used clothing, and opened the door to solicit other willing Rotary Clubs. An honorary member with deep connections to Grand Manan, Mr. Paul Cosulich, funded the first official trip to Guinea in 2003 that was the genesis of the founding of Le Groupe Lyceum. Following that, former club President Mrs. Edie Mullen started the legacy of four trips to volunteer her time and energy to the programs being undertaken Other notable links to Rotary are:
